  President of Ports Authority inspects Ras Al Zour Port project
Article Image President of the Saudi Ports Authority, Dr. Khaled bin Ahmed Bubshait has recently made an inspection visit to the new port at Ras Al Zour on the Arabian Gulf coast, still under construction
Bubshait was briefed on the progress of the project and by the consulting team supervising the project.
Dr. Bubshait underlined the importance of completing the work properly in order to hand it over in due time as per schedule.
 Three berths and a 24-meter long, 175 meter- wide water channel will be built along with other additional infrastructure like offices , buildings and main road inside the port's zone.
The cost of the project would be SR 2.2 billion. The port location was selected to serve nearby fertilizer and aluminum smelting complexes. The project would serve as strong and vital supporting facility for the Saudi local industry and would contribute in the future transformation of national industry and increase its local and international competitiveness. Moreover, the new port project is another Saudi outlet which will join the other eight Saudi sea port that enjoy constant support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, his Crown prince and the second deputy premier.
